Getting started
Who is Chip?
Chip is the SimpleUP robot. He stands for the work your Simplets do: the drafting, chasing and reminding that happens overnight. Behind him are our AI tools and our Canadian team, who set everything up and look after it.
What exactly am I buying?
A Simplet: one job, done for your business every day, such as answering new enquiries or chasing overdue invoices. Chip runs it inside your tools, our team looks after it, and you decide what needs your OK. Our Terms of Service call each Simplet a Job.
Do I have to buy a package?
No. Every Simplet is priced on its own. Start with one and add more when you see it working. If you want several Simplets together, we can package them for you.
How does setup work?
After you pay, we contact you to set up your Simplets. Setup needs your help: access to the tools the Simplet uses, and the information we ask for. The work starts when setup is complete.
Can I buy a Simplet marked "Opening soon"?
Not yet. Leave your email on that Simplet’s page and we will tell you the day it opens. Nothing is charged before then.
What if the job I need is not listed?
Please tell us. We will say honestly whether we can take it on, and what it costs. Bigger custom work, such as marketing, advertising or automation projects, is done under a separate agency agreement.
What if I need more than a Simplet includes?
Each Simplet has a fixed limit for a fixed price, shown on its page under What’s included. If you need more, such as extra forms or more posts, we can build it out as a custom setup based on that Simplet, priced on its own. Please tell us.
Approvals and AI
Will it send anything without asking me?
Only if you say so. By default, replies, orders and reminders wait as drafts for your OK. For routine messages, like appointment reminders, you can let Chip send them on his own, and switch that off any time. Heads-ups to you about something urgent always go straight away.
Where do I approve drafts?
In the Hub, our client portal, or in your email. You can approve, edit or discard each draft. Silence is never treated as approval.
Can some messages go out automatically?
Yes, if you choose. For some Simplets, such as appointment reminders, you can switch on automatic sending. It is off unless you switch it on for that Simplet, and you can switch it off at any time.
Is the writing done by AI? Can it be wrong?
Drafts are written with AI, which can make mistakes, invent details or misread a situation. That is why every draft waits for you: read it before you approve it.
What about live chat or phone agents?
A live agent answers in real time, so it cannot wait for you on each reply. Instead, you approve its script and knowledge before launch and any change after. It says it is an AI system when asked, and passes people to a person when it should.
Prices and billing
What currency are your prices in?
Canadian dollars. Prices do not include tax.
How is tax charged?
Tax is calculated at checkout from the province in your billing address and added to the price. Our GST/HST registration number is 809443641RT0001.
Can I pay monthly or yearly?
Either. You choose monthly or yearly billing for your whole plan at checkout. A yearly plan is billed in advance at the yearly price shown on each Simplet.
What is a setup fee?
A one-time charge to set up a monthly Simplet, shown on its page. Setup fees and one-time Simplets are charged once, on your first invoice. Setup fees apply to yearly plans too.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe. Stripe emails your receipts, and you can update your card or see invoices on your billing page.
Can prices go up?
We give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price goes up. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice ends, and you can cancel before then.
What happens if a payment fails?
Stripe tries your card again over the following days and we email you. If it is still unpaid 7 days after it was due, we pause your Simplets until it is paid.
Cancelling and refunds
Can I cancel?
Yes, any Simplet or your whole plan, in any month. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term. Cancel from your billing page or by replying to any email from us. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Do you refund part of a month?
No. When you cancel a monthly plan, your Simplets keep running to the end of the month you paid for, and you are not charged again.
Can I get my setup fee back?
If you cancel within 14 days of paying, and before your setup call, we refund the setup fee in full. Once setup work has started, it is not refundable.
What if I cancel a yearly plan?
We refund the unused months: the yearly price you paid, minus the monthly price for each month or part of a month you used. The details are in our Refunds and Cancellation Policy.
What if a one-time Simplet is not right?
Tell us within 14 days of delivery if it does not match the Simplet’s description, and we will fix it. The rounds of changes shown on the Simplet’s page are included.
Your data and your tools
Where is my data?
In the tools you already use. Chip works inside them; he does not move your customer list somewhere new.
Who owns my content and customer data?
You do. We use it only to provide the services to you, and we do not use it to train our own AI models. Our Privacy Policy lists who helps us and where data is stored.
Can I take my data with me if I leave?
Yes. Ask for an export within 30 days after your last Simplet ends. After that we delete it, except what the law requires us to keep. Data in your own accounts, such as your SimpleUP CRM or Google accounts, stays there.
What if I don’t use SimpleUP CRM?
Most Simplets work with your email, calendar and website forms on their own. A few, like keeping your customer list up to date, need a CRM, and we can set that up too.
Which tools do Simplets work with?
SimpleUP CRM, Google Business Profile, Google and Microsoft email and calendars, and Facebook and Instagram, depending on the Simplet. Each Simplet’s page lists what it connects to.
